From Our Website to Your Tail

Buying an N-number is straightforward. The entire process — from picking your number to having it officially registered in your name — typically takes about three to four weeks. Here's what to expect.

Pick Your Number

Browse our inventory, use the AI generator, or tell us what you're looking for. Once you've found a number you like, reach out via phone, email, or the contact form. We'll confirm it's available and send you pricing.

We Handle the Paperwork

After payment, we prepare a signed authorization letter that officially releases the N-number from our reservation. We'll need your name (or company name), mailing address, email, and phone number to put on the letter.

What you'll receive: A signed letter authorizing the FAA to reassign the N-number to you. This is the only document the FAA requires from us.

Send It to the FAA

Countersign the letter and mail it to the FAA Aircraft Registration Branch along with the standard $10 government filing fee. That's it — one letter, one check.

The FAA Processes Your Registration

The Registration Branch typically processes transfers within two to four weeks. During busy periods it can take slightly longer. You'll receive confirmation once the number is officially assigned to you.

Ongoing

Keep It Current

Reserved N-numbers need to be renewed once a year through the FAA — it's $10 and can be done online in about two minutes. Once you assign the number to a registered aircraft, the renewal requirement goes away.
